I bought this maul for my husband to split firewood for this heating season. It is great. I wouldn't say he now loves splitting wood, but it makes it a lot easier.

My cutting edge wasn't as sharp as it should've been, out of the box. Once I spent about 15 minutes sharpening it, it worked like a dream, and sent log pieces flying. Before I sharpened it, I was bouncing off of logs that I should've easily split.

Great splitting maul.one swing and it's split!!! I have hit the handle several times by accident against the wood and shows no signs of wear.very rugged.these are much better then the ones at wal-mart, they only get the cheap made ones from china.
