5Great but you may need the limited life waranty
By M. lynch
Don't expect to use it to pry up on tree roots/balls.The handle is unbreakable but the steel that connect the shovel to the handle is not tubular its just bent steel at the shank where it attaches to the handle. Dig all you want, just don't pry with it or the metal neck will bend over time. Warranty will replace it if the handle fails.

4Great shovel, not really serrated
By PhilUSAFRet
Received my shovel quickly. It is extremely heavy and well made, and will do my heaviest gardening chores well. As for the serrated edge, it is not really serrated, but has a more scalloped or I guess accordian shaped edge. Penetrates soil easily, but I haven't really gotten to a lot of roots yet where I am sure a true "serrated" edge would have a slight advantage. This "accordian" edge works better than a straight one though. Good Shovel and a good price.
