This is a sturdy, well-made trowel. It feels good in your hand, and the handle is real wood. I got it for around $5, and it was completely worth it. I have not been able to find a trowel this quality for so cheap at any hardware store. I took off 1 star because it is not as sharp as I would have liked. It has stood up to heavy clay soils without any bending or wearing, so I am satisfied with it. This would be a great item to add for super saver shipping that you will actually get some use out of if you are an avid gardener, like myself.

I purchased this same trowel so many years ago, I don't remember when.When I saw the exact same one on Amazon, I purchased it right away. I'm always mislaying the original in the garden and am so afraid that one day it might disappear forever that I just had to purchase another. I'm keeping the original as a spare.I'm an avid lifetime gardener. I don't baby my tools, they are used and abused! If/when you purchase your own Ames True Temper Best Hand Trowel it should last you a lifetime.

I wanted a trowel that was just like my old one...wood handle & all. This ain't exactly the same but it's the closest I could find w/o going into BIG bucks. Rivets could be better (made in China). Recommend. Also bought the "transplant" version.Removing the stickers is an awful experience - blow dryer technique does NOT work. Use Goop-off (sp?) or dry cleaning fluid (Angelus)
