This little baby can outwork you, just make sure your drill chuck keeps it tightly clasped. Sure makes planting a lot easier.

I think you will need a corded strong drill for tough dirt but this auger works great im using it to dig in confined space and i have hard dirt that was taking a long time with shovel this will make it go a lot quicker. It does have a little trouble when it hits rocks in the dirt but it still does a good job.

We used this auger on a powerful cordless drill to make holes for very large Darwin Hybrid tulip bulbs. It is the perfect size and length. It really made planting 400 bulbs easy!
