I don't write many reviews. If I am satisfied with a purchase I don't need to rave or complain.This axe is excellent. I have chopped and split wood with it. Very sharp, it has sliced my thumb and finger already. If the wood is seasoned (Conifer) you can split 20 inch rounds in three or less whacks.I do want to give it 3.5 stars however. The ad said it was 28.5 inches long. I was thinking that was kind of short but I could live with it. We've been using these axe for scouts-they are a favorite when on a camp-out. These seem to keep the head tight and secure, so they appear to be safer than the wooden handle alternative.
