I thought this was a simple socket to put a cfl in. No its a e39 socket used for metal halides. Which I could use it for but the thing is with MH lights you need a ballast also to manage the currents coming in so the bulb doesn't destroy itself. For the price I'm going to hold onto it for now but just giving others a heads up before they get the wrong idea as I did.

Though I ordered 2 of these light sockets by mistake, I was impressed enough that I thought I should at least give them a shout out for what looked and felt like a quality, beefy item. It is not one bit flimsy. Thumbs up for this product.
