I like "Darwood" quite a lot. He sits there in our courtyard welcoming guests and hiding that unsightly hose. Adds a touch of whimsy. Arrived with cracks on his front feet. But I opted to live with it .. let's see how long it takes for the cracks to grow and split. The hinge on the back is somewhat flimsy and won't surprise me if they snap one of these days. I would be more picky if there were a ton of working "hose hiding" options out there. But for now, Darwood is a large, welcoming presence in our lives. Btw, the box might mention that there is a hose reel included but be aware that there are two different models. And the one priced <$50 does not include the hose guide.

He's much bigger than I imagined he would be, and I'm glad I had enough space to put him in...glad I didn't get two like I almost did because I wouldn't have had enough space in the other spot where I need to store a hose.

A LOT bigger than expected, this is not an ordinary frog or hose holder. Pretty cool though. The price was right, the size works and the hose is out of the weather. It is a PITA to put it back in though, but at least the hose is put away.Update 6/2012: The latch on the back of the frog has busted off. It's still usable but aggravating. To get to the hose or put it back we have to remove the lid (awkward, large and completely ridiculous in any type of wind) and place on the ground, then deal with the hose. Sounds simple until you have to do it over and over. Amazon doesn't have an option to edit the rating. For $100 and not much time outside, I wouldn't buy it again.
