I was told by a friend in the landscaping business to use this product when planting a new japanese maple. The tree did great, but I wasn't sure if it was just a good tree, good care, good location or even if the product made a difference. So I decided to do a couple tests with potted plans and you can definitely tell which pots had the tabs in them and which ones didn't. I now use this for any significant landscape transplants and for any potted plants. I'm sure I would be fine without it, but with them I know that I'm getting better results.
