Fiskars Consumer #91105935 Traditional Anvil PrunerOf the half dozen models or so hand-pruners we own, these are the best. They are so good, I just ordered two more so everyone in the family can help me prune!Cons:- It's not too difficult to sharpen the blade if it's only a little dull. However, if it has nicks, that's a different story. This is because the entire sharpened blade must touch the brass anvil at the same time, to cut effectively. If you take off too much steel from one spot or the blade is seriously nicked, you may as well buy another pair. This is true of any anvil pruner.Pros:- Cuts any branch up to 5/8" in diameter, or if the wood is really soft, 3/4".- The "power-lever" feature is really a type of compound action, with the added benefit that the jaws open wide from the back. That allows larger branches to fit close to the pivot point, increasing cutting leverage. The result of these design features: this pruner requires less effort than other models. Fiskars claims it takes half the effort of other pruners, and that's probably close.- If a branch fits, the only limiting factors are your strength and blade sharpness.- Anvil cutters don't twist on the wood while cutting, or pinch a tiny piece of wood and get stuck closed, like scissors pruners sometimes do.- The blade is hardened steel, so unless you catch a rock or other hard thing and nick them, they stay sharp for a very long time (years in our case).- Light weight compared to expensive scissors pruners, so they are comfortable to use for hours. Light enough to carry in your pocket to the work site.- Simple blade lock that works and doesn't lock by itself.- They are inexpensive, so if you lose them in the weeds, it's not as big a deal as losing an expensive tool.Highly recommended.

I returned the first pair of these anvil pruners after realizing how poorly strengthened the blade handle is. While pruning small branches (1/8") these pruners work fine. Ask them to cut larger diameter branches up to 3/8" and the blade of the pruner misaligned with the anvil enough to cause the blade to pinch and grab the anvil as it attempts to cut. You end up with a blade that consistently wants to bend towards the left side of the anvil as you proceed to try and make a complete cut. I tried a second pair of these and they were just as bad. Needless to say, I don't recommend these based on the poor strength of the design.I purchased a pair of the Corona anvil clippers from Amazon (2 years ago) and they work perfect. They are well made and don't suffer from poor design.I still have them. They are keepers.

By FXP
It is well made and the hinged opening gives a wider mouth to cut stems. The handle is hard with a soft black covering. I expect it to hold up to daily use. It is average size, a little smaller than my other ones.
